Farewell ,to Cambridge

(written by xu zhi mo)

Silently I go. As silently I came . Silently I wave my hand And bid farewell to the western clouds. The golden willows on the river bank And brides beneath the setting sun Their flaming shadows in the wave~s light More softly on my heart Green weed in soft day Greenly tossing beneath the water In the soft waves of Cam I am content to be a weed The pool under the elms shadow Is not a cleer spring ,but a rainbow Shattered among pondweeds Falling at last into rainbow dreams. Who seeks dream_Poling along ,pole Roving through places greener them green grass. A boat fully loaded with starlight Sings beneath splerdiel stars. Now i can not sing a loud, And silent are the farewell flutes. Even the insects are silent for me On this silent Cambridge night Silengtly I go As silently I came I wave my sleeres. Carring away no silk of clouds.
